Our Church members are committed to participate on the Forty days of spiritual journey with "Purpose Driven Life" book. The book has forty chapters so we read one chapter a day for forty days. It started on Monday Jan. 4 and finishes by Feb. 12, 2010. You can read the book with us and post your reflection of the daily reading on Facebook.
1st day
It all Starts with God
Verse: "For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, ... everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him." Col. 1:16 (Msg)
Question to consider: In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not myself?
2nd day
You Are Not an Accident
Verse: "I am your creator. You were in my care even before you were born." Isa. 44:2a (CEV)
Question to consider: Knowing that God uniquely created me, what areas of my personality, background, and physical appearance am I strugling to accept?
3rd day
What drives your life?
The verse: "I observed that the basic motive for success is the driving force of envy and jealousy" Eccl. 4:4 (Living Bible).
A question to consider: What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life? What do I wanted to be?
4th day
Made to last forever.
Verse: "God has ... planted eternity in the human heart." Eccl. 3:11 (NLT).
Question to consider: Since I was made to last forever, what is the one thing I should stop doing and the one thing I should start doing today?
5th day
Seeing life from God's view
Verse: "What's your life?" James 4:14b (NIV).
Question to consider: What has happened to me recently that I now realize was a test from Go? what are the greatest matters God has entrusted to me?
6th day
Life is a Temporary Assignment.
Verse: "Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away." Psalm 39:4 (NTL).
Question to consider: How should the fact that life on earth is just a temporary assignment change the way I am living right now?
7th day
The Reason for Everything.
Verse: "Everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by his power, and everything is for his glory." Rom. 11:36 (LB).
Question to consider: Where in my daily routine can I become more aware of God's glory?
8th day
Planned for God's Pleasure.
Verse: "You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created." Rev. 4:11 (NLT).
Question to consider: Since God knows what is best, in what areas of my life do I need to trust him most?
9th day
What Makes God Smile?
Verse: "May the Lord smile on you..." Num. 6:25 (NLT).
Question to consider: Since God knows what is best, in what areas of my life do I need to trust him most?
